Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Kage (影) is an AI-powered Magic: The Gathering Discord bot operated by Kage Crafts, an independent developer project. When this policy refers to "Kage", "we", "us", or "our", it means Kage Crafts.

2. What data we collect

We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the service:

• Discord user ID — a numeric identifier assigned by Discord. We never collect your username, email address, or any personal information directly from you.
• Discord server (guild) ID and name — to track which servers Kage is active in and apply per-server settings.
• Conversation history — the messages you send to Kage via slash commands, stored so Kage can maintain context across messages in a session. You can delete this at any time using /clear.
• Server settings — configuration choices made by server administrators (allowed channels, enabled commands, custom prompts).
• Request timestamps — used exclusively for rate limiting. Records older than one hour are automatically deleted.

We do not collect: real names, email addresses, payment information, IP addresses, or any data from Discord messages outside of explicit slash command interactions with Kage.

3. How we use your data

• To provide Kage's core features (AI responses, card lookups, rulings)
• To enforce per-server settings configured by administrators
• To apply rate limits and prevent abuse
• To display aggregate statistics on our landing page (e.g. "X active servers")

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

4. Third-party services

Kage uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Anthropic (Claude API) — your slash command messages are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. See anthropic.com/privacy.
• Scryfall API — card name queries are sent to Scryfall to retrieve card data. No personal data is included in these requests. See scryfall.com/docs/terms.
• Discord — Kage operates within Discord's platform. See discord.com/privacy.
• Railway — our hosting infrastructure. See railway.app/legal/privacy.

5. Data retention

• Conversation history is retained until you run /clear or request deletion.
• Rate limit records are automatically deleted after one hour.
• Server settings are retained for as long as Kage is active in your server and marked inactive when Kage is removed.

6. Your rights

Under Uruguay's Law 18.331 on Personal Data Protection (consistent with international standards including the GDPR), you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to processing of your data

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@kagemtg.com. We will respond within 30 days. For conversation history, you can delete it instantly using /clear.

7. Children

Kage is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced in our support Discord server. Continued use of Kage after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
